It's 2025 This year feels different—like the start of something big. I’ve decided 2025 is the year I stop holding back. It’s time to create the life I’ve dreamed about for so long, one step at a time.

One dream that’s been on my mind for ages? Starting a blog. Or a podcast. Or some space to share the things I love—what I’m doing, what’s inspiring me, and my favorite recommendations for others like me. So here it is: megplat.com. A little corner of the internet where I can document it all…and maybe more.

I thought about listing my goals for 2025, but I’ve learned to keep them close to my heart. Life is unpredictable, and I’ve realized there’s beauty in sharing memories as they happen instead of focusing on an ever-shifting future. This approach keeps me in the moment—a lesson I’m embracing more with each passing year.

A Little About Me I was born and raised in small-town Indiana with the quintessential nuclear family: a hardworking dad who held a blue-collar job, a highly educated mom dedicated to the field of education, and a younger brother who was my opposite in so many ways growing up. My family remains close, with most of us living near Cincinnati, and I’m incredibly grateful for their proximity.

Travel was a huge part of my childhood, thanks to my dad’s job with Delta. We flew standby, which meant never knowing if we’d make it onto a plane until the last minute. Those experiences taught me to be adaptable—a trait I carry to this day.

In high school, I was the girl balancing honors classes, work, and French Club meetings. I wasn’t the most popular kid, but I wasn’t invisible either. I lived in the space between—a little nerdy, a little social, always doing something.

College took me to the University of Cincinnati, where I double-majored in marketing and international business. From there, I ventured into law school, only to realize the legal world wasn’t for me. I left with a master’s degree and a renewed focus on building a career that fit me.

Professionally, I’ve had a few lives—from operations management at Amazon to freelance marketing to launching my own marketing agency. Today, I head up the marketing department for a private equity-backed organization in the home services industry. It’s a role I enjoy, but I’m always asking myself: What’s next? My ultimate goal is to create a life where I choose what I want to do every day. Maybe this blog will be part of that foundation.

Looking Ahead For now, megplat.com is my journal—a place to share gardening wins, book recommendations, recipes, musings about life with three dogs, and reflections on living slow and intentionally. Maybe it’ll grow into something bigger: a podcast, a magazine, or even courses on marketing, leadership, or entrepreneurship. Who knows?

At the very least, I’ll aim to post weekly. It’s a small step, but all big things start somewhere. Whether this blog reaches one person or a hundred, I’ll consider it a success because it’s for me first.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. Until next time, be kind, be safe, and be unapologetically yourself.
