Looking for an easy, affordable, memory-packed weekend with your family? Dearborn County delivers small-town charm, riverfront views, kid-friendly fun, and just enough adventure to make everyone sleep well at night.

Here’s your simple 3-day itinerary for an overnight family trip you’ll want to repeat.

Day 1: Arrive, Settle In & Enjoy a Classic Dinner

Arrive Friday afternoon and check into one of our comfortable, family-friendly hotels:

  • DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrenceburg

  • Comfort Inn

Both offer easy access to downtown, the riverfront, and everything you’ll explore this weekend.

For dinner, kick things off with a regional favorite just minutes away across the river in Cincinnati:

  • Skyline Chili – A must-try for first-timers.

  • LaRosa's Pizzeria – Crowd-pleasing pizza the kids will love.

Simple. Classic. Delicious. Back to the hotel early enough for a good night’s rest.

Day 2: River Views, Bikes & Big Adventures

Start with Breakfast

Fuel up at Funny Farm Coffee Co. in downtown Lawrenceburg. Great coffee for the grown-ups. Solid breakfast options for everyone.

Morning Activity Options

Option 1: Bike the River Trail Rent bikes and cruise the levee trail between Lawrenceburg and Aurora. You’ll enjoy sweeping Ohio River views, wide paved paths, and plenty of space for kids to ride safely.

Afterward, cool off at the splash pad in Civic Park in downtown Lawrenceburg. It’s an easy win.

Option 2: Big Adventure Day Spend the morning at the Creation Museum — explore interactive exhibits or try the zip lines for older kids.

Option 3: Museum MagicHead to the Cincinnati Museum Center and explore the Children’s Museum. It’s hands-on, engaging, and worth the short drive.

Lunch Back in Indiana

Stop by Hoosier Ice House for laid-back, family-friendly lunch options.

Dinner Done Right

  • Noce

  • Giulietta's Italian Ristorante

Both offer cozy atmospheres and menus that make it easy to satisfy everyone at the table.

Day 3: Breakfast, Shopping & Riverfront Dining

Breakfast Picks

Choose your vibe:

  • Howie's Diner – Classic diner comfort.

  • 5 Speed on 50 – Casual and satisfying.
